About Aje Wellness Club

For years I have hosted my friends and community at my home here in Durham. People have flown from all over to retreat in this space. They always say "this place is so peaceful" or "there is something special about this land". I've always known this. It's why I bought the home in the first place. And anyone that knows me- knows that I believe that everything I "have" is not just for me. This midcentury house and the land on which it sits is no different. The only difference is that I've given it name... Aje.

Aje is a true third space. A place to get sh*t done, or nothing at all. It's somewhere I have dreamt of creating for years. Where you arrive as the version of yourself that doesn't have to perform. Where we have movement classes, a hot sauna, hammocks, sound baths, a nap room, and nobody is asking what you do for a living.

This is for the woman who has been looking for a space like this and hasn't found it. Who prefers to look outside and see a forest with incense burning in the corner. Some birdsong with her morning emails and a sauna that opens to trees instead of a parking lot. This is for the woman that knows she wants more than another gym or coworking space. I have carefully started curating events and workshops for those that get excited about fermentation and ceramic workshops or human design readings. Maybe even organic s'mores for a Tuesday evening New Moon?

I roared through a home birth in what is now the meditation and body treatment room. The kids room is now the craft and create space. Our living room is where we do yoga.

I've hosted plant medicine retreats here. Infused dinners. Craft nights.

This is where I live and now it is where WE gather.

If that's you, come. I built this for you.

And if it isn't — if your version of this looks completely different, in a different city, on a different piece of land, with a different name — I hope this inspires you to go and build it. Because the world needs more women opening doors to the spaces they wished existed.
